Together with Beyond Jazz and Bending Corners, this is my absolute favourite podcast (and I have tried out *a lot* already…) Thanks for investing your time and money and making these publicly available great mixes! I also appreciate your effort in putting the cover art/track listing into the podcast.

Well since you ask for feedback here’s mine… Your podcast looks nice but I just could not hear it: My Linux box has not tools for Apple file format, my Packard Bell mp3 player does not support that file format, neither does my Kenwood mp3 car stereo. If you you want to use apple format fine, but only people with iTunes and iPod can hear you, my suggestion is to use mp3 or at least to add a feed for mp3 files (as I saw in other podcasts).
I hope to be able to hear you soon:-)

Great Disco Session, a funky one. I love that track in your mix it was about 15:00 when you played. I hear so many original tracks that people used to sample, here’s the originals. Cheers from Berlin.

Guys, just to say you’re going a very good job. Very nice music, well mixed. I’m recommending these podcasts to some Jazz friends here in Spain.

What do I most like in your Podcasts? Songs with high sound quality. Keep in mind that devices today are extremely good (Apple and Creative), so I would remove old songs and check noise at the beginning of the podcast or between the songs.

See ya

  JazzDJ wrote @ December 16th, 2005 at 1:43 pm

Thanks for your kind comments Grishy!

Just a point on the sound quality, 99% of the music in these casts is taken from the original vinyl, so the noise you may be referring to is that of the vinyl surface, “it’s alive and always will be”!

thanks for all the music, love it all, looking forward to all the sets to come. peace and love for 2006 xxx from us all in new york @

Great! Nice thematic sessions, good selections, and high quality with covers and track listing.
A very good work and the turnable noise at the beginning is a pearl.
Looking forward for new session.

Just wanted to respond to De-tox who reckons I was DJ’ing when he was at the Jazz Rooms a few weeks back. I can safely say that I did not and have never had anyboby come up to me complaining about “cheesy bossas” and, although I love my Brazilian music and everything that that encapsulates, I’m certainly not in the habit of playing “cheese”, and in thirteen proud years of Dj’ing at the Jazz Rooms I’ve definitely NEVER thrown a hissy fit of any kind!!
This year I’ve not had the opportunity to play anything in the bossa veign, so I suggest that De-tox may have been listening to somebody else!! Listen!! Stuart Chalk does NOT play cheese!
Check the Nu Jazz Spectrum archives on Totally Radio to hear me playing in Russ’ place to find out what I’m about musically, there’s also a new show going up this weekend where you’ll not find a single “cheesy bossa”!
Shame I’ve had to post on this wicked site to put somebody straight on their facts. Keep the sounds going.

the new latin jazz mix - my favourite so far! intelligent selections, a continous groove taking you high, then swooping you low and a surprise read from mr Kerouac.. infused with a sunkissed day (such as this one), you become a tranquil journey through the bustle of london on a number 390 bus..

Membership Fees £2
I was dissapointed to hear you will be charging for content. I understand why you are doing it (server space / trying to earn a crust) but I think you should look to better alternatives for sponsorship like Record companies or music resellers. If you getting huge hits this a selling point to attract advertisers. Brand and Companies want to advertise where Urban Culture is booming.

Lots of love and respect for for what you are doing!

PS. For a prime example go to http://www.giantstep.net

  JazzDJ wrote @ October 3rd, 2007 at 10:16 am

I appreciate the feedback and wish more peeps would let their views be known… If a sponsor came on-board the subscription fee would go away tomorrow!!! But the likelyhood of this happening in the near future is remote…

Peace ;-)

PS. the fee is not for profit just to cover costs ;-)
